Story
A child, sent to Earth from a dying planet, is adopted by a couple in rural Kansas. Posing as a journalist, he uses his extraordinary powers to protect his new home from an insidious evil.

Despite the fact that we’ve seen a multitude of set photos from Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, we know relatively little about the overall plot aside from “Superman origin story  Superman VS. General Zod” (and a scant few other details).
That might be starting to change, if a recent report  about the film’s climax is to be believed. Two things to keep in mind before reading ahead Take this information with a semi truck sized grain of salt until official confirmation comes along
The climax of the film involves a fight between Superman, Zod, and Faora (shocker!).
This fight occurs after Zod learns that Superman’s human name is Clark Kent and attacks the Kent farm.
After the attack, Superman is very angry, hence the fight between Superman, Zod, and Faora at the end of the film; Zod and Faora have basically destroyed the US Armed Forces at this point.
Christopher Meloni’s character, Colonel Hardy, hates Superman.
While most of this jibes well enough with the set images we’ve seen of Man of Steel, it’s also worth noting that any Superman fan who has been following this project could’ve guessed the above. Of course Superman, Zod, and his second in comand are going to duke it out at the end of the film. Of course Colonel Hardy’s going to hate Superman. Army officers always hate superheroes in these stories! Et cetera.
Frankly, this particular Screen Rant writer hopes that there’s a little more to Man of Steel‘s story than just good guy versus bad guy. Not that watching two superpowered powerhouses beat the hell out of each other won’t be enjoyable especially for a franchise like Superman that has sorely been lacking in this department — but there’s no reason we can’t have “interesting” and “action packed” in the same film, right?
Then again, the bulleted details are very vague, so the description leaves a lot of room for interesting, as well. And, if the final scenes of the animated feature Apocalypse are any indication, a Superman slugfest across the wide open fields of Smallville is a pretty sweet thing to see onscreen.
Received wisdom when it comes to the better comic-book movies these days seems to be that less is more. Christopher Nolan, who is overseeing Zack Snyder's Man of Steel in a "godfather" role, has just given us a Batman movie without all that much Batman in it, so it should come as no surprise that the twin teasers for the first film about Krypton's favourite son in six years only deliver the merest glimpse of Superman himself
Fans of the Christopher Reeve era may also be wondering what happened to mild-mannered Clark Kent, the speccy oversized goody-two-shoes of the Richard Donner/Richard Lester era. Newcomer Henry Cavill's Kal-El has a rather more rugged look to him, and doesn't seem afraid to get his hands dirty working on a fishing boat somewhere pretty cold and horrible. What's he doing hitchhiking when he might just as easily travel conveniently by super-flight, and what's with the beard?
Moreover, what's the significance of the different voiceovers here – the first from Kevin Costner as Superman's adoptive human father, Jonathan Kent, the second from Russell Crowe as his Kryptonian dad Jor-El?
You're not just anyone. One day, you're going to have to make a choice. You have to decide what kind of man you want to grow up to be. Whoever that man is, good or bad, he's going to change the world.
ou will give the people an ideal to strive towards,. They will race behind you. They will stumble. They will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders.
Do these rather different perspectives on our boy's future hint at a conflict between extraterrestrial and earthly ideals, or did the studio bods at Warner simply want to offer both Yahoo and MSN an exclusive?

Each of these characters will of course be familiar to students of the superhero introduced in 1938's Action Comics #1, but elsewhere Snyder seems to be preparing us for a less orthodox take: hinting, perhaps, that he is planning to reinvent the mythos surrounding the character from ground level up, Batman Begins-style. It's notable here that we only get to see Supes flying through the ether in full costume at the very end of the trailer, and even then the scene appears to have been shot on an iPhone like something out of a found footage flick. It's as if we're being deliberately invited to see the character from a fresh perspective.
Those longing for a more traditional take should probably wait for the movie itself before selling their Superman action figures on eBay, however. Man of Steel will have to find room at some point for such series stalwarts as Lois Lane (Amy Adams), Perry White (Laurence Fishburne) and even General Zod (Michael Shannon). So expect about 10 minutes of farting about on a trawler in Novia Scotia, followed by a swift transfer to Metropolis and an awful lot of portentous flashbacks featuring Crowe in full luvvie mode. Are you steeling yourself for yet another failed revamp to follow 2006's anaemic Superman Returns, or fully expecting a glorious reinvention of the world's first and greatest comic book hero?
